we find who we are through the open door
My phone is really confused… It can’t decide if its 2 am or 3 am… It keeps jumping back and forth…
"Where is God in the night sky? Where is God in the city light? Where is God in the earthquake? Where is God in the genocide?
Where are you in my broke heart? Everything seems to fall apart. Everything feels rusted over. Tell me that you’re there.”
Went to bed last night and started this morning with this song playing in my ears. The desperation, the questioning, and the pleading are all too familiar. When my heart says,"tell me that You’re there," the balm of peace and rest will not necessarily end my struggles and answer my questions, but it will always relieve the pain and weight that they have given me.

I don’t have a room… I just sleep in the basement… So, it has a pool table, a hundred million pieces of Lego, my drum set, there is a walkout door to outside, the water pump is about 5 ft from my bed and it gets loud when people are showering or doing laundry, there is a park bench, all kinds of random street signs, I have blankets over the windows due to the lack of curtains so I can sleep in, the light switch is at the top of the stairs which is annoying because I have to walk down the stairs and to my bed in the dark whilst navigating a Lego strewn floor… The cat sleeps down here too, and it is the spawn of satan.
